Once he was satisfied, he made a heartfelt profession of faith: &#8216;My Lord and my God.&#8217; St Thomas, who probably suffered martyrdom as a result of preaching the Gospel in India, comforts us when our faith is weak, encourages us to persevere and demonstrates that &#8216;every doubt can lead to an outcome brighter than any uncertainty&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Sign of the Cross&nbsp;<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. <br><strong>Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Examen<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>Before listening to the Word of God take a moment to reflect.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For what am I grateful to God for today? Where did I stray from God: through words, actions or things I did not do. How might I do better tomorrow? What grace do I ask from God in order to live more closely in his love?&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>You may wish to conclude by saying:&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Lord Jesus, you have revealed yourself as the way to the Father:<br>Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You have poured out on your people the Spirit of truth:<br>Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>You are the Good Shepherd, leading us to eternal life:<br>Lord, have mercy. You are part of a building that has the apostles and prophets for its foundations, and Christ Jesus himself for its main cornerstone. When they said, &#8216;We have seen the Lord&#8217;, he answered, &#8216;Unless I see the holes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.&#8217; Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. &#8216;Peace be with you&#8217; he said. Then he spoke to Thomas, &#8216;Put your finger in here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Doubt no longer but believe.&#8217; Thomas replied, &#8216;My Lord and my God!&#8217; Jesus said to him:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&#8216;You believe because you can see me.<br>Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe.&#8217;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Gospel of the Lord. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Profession of Faith<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">The Apostles&#8217; Creed<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I believe in God,<br>the Father almighty,<br>Creator of heaven and earth,<br>and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,<br>who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,<br>born of the Virgin Mary,<br>suffered under Pontius Pilate,<br>was crucified, died, and was buried;<br>he descended into hell;<br>on the third day he rose again from the dead;<br>he ascended into heaven,<br>and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;<br>from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>I believe in the Holy Spirit,<br>the holy catholic Church,<br>the communion of saints,<br>the forgiveness of sins,<br>the resurrection of the body,<br>and life everlasting. Pray for other countries who are struggling with the effects of the COVID 19 virus.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For those in authority: may they offer advice with care and integrity, may they seek to protect the poor and vulnerable.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For all who work in healthcare: give strength to all who look after the sick so that they may bring comfort and relief to the suffering.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For the Church: may she offer prayers and consolation for all those affected.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Lord, in your mercy. I adore you in the Sacrament of Your Love; I desire to receive You in the poor abode that my heart offers You. While waiting for the happiness of a Sacramental Communion, I want to possess You in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, that I may come to You. May Your love inflame my whole being, in life and in death. I believe in You. I hope in You.
