Saint \u2021 Thomas, Apostle<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
FEAST<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
St Thomas (first century), called the ‘twin’, is chiefly remembered for doubting the reality of the resurrection until he saw the Lord for himself. Once he was satisfied, he made a heartfelt profession of faith: ‘My Lord and my God.’ St Thomas, who probably suffered martyrdom as a result of preaching the Gospel in India, comforts us when our faith is weak, encourages us to persevere and demonstrates that ‘every doubt can lead to an outcome brighter than any uncertainty’<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Before listening to the Word of God take a moment to reflect. <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n For what am I grateful to God for today? Where did I stray from God: through words, actions or things I did not do. How might I do better tomorrow? What grace do I ask from God in order to live more closely in his love? <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You may wish to conclude by saying: <\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Lord Jesus, you have revealed yourself as the way to the Father: You have poured out on your people the Spirit of truth: You are the Good Shepherd, leading us to eternal life: Grant, almighty God, A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 2: 19-22<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You are part of a building that has the apostles for its foundations.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n You are no longer aliens or foreign visitors; you are citizens like all the saints, and part of God’s household. You are part of a building that has the apostles and prophets for its foundations, and Christ Jesus himself for its main cornerstone. As every structure is aligned on him, all grow into one holy temple in the Lord; and you too, in him, are being built into a house where God lives, in the Spirit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The word of the Lord.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Psalm 116. Alleluia!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 20: 24-29<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n My Lord and my God.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Thomas, called the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. When they said, ‘We have seen the Lord’, he answered, ‘Unless I see the holes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.’ Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. ‘Peace be with you’ he said. Then he spoke to Thomas, ‘Put your finger in here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Doubt no longer but believe.’ Thomas replied, ‘My Lord and my God!’ Jesus said to him:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n ‘You believe because you can see me. While waiting for the happiness of a Sacramental Communion, I want to possess You in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, that I may come to You. for those who have fallen ill,
