Where did I stray from God: through words, actions or things I did not do. How might I do better tomorrow? What grace do I ask from God in order to live more closely in his love?\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<em>You may wish to conclude by saying:\u00a0<\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLord Jesus, you have revealed yourself as the way to the Father:\r\nLord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYou have poured out on your people the Spirit of truth:\r\nChrist, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYou are the Good Shepherd, leading us to eternal life:\r\nLord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Collect<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nGrant, we pray, almighty God,\r\nthat, putting off our old self with all its ways,\r\nwe may live as Christ did,\r\nfor through the healing paschal remedies\r\nyou have conformed us to his nature.\r\nWho lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,\r\none God, for ever and ever.\r\n<strong>Amen.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">First Reading<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">A reading from the Acts of the Apostles 6: 8-15<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color\"><em>They could not get the better of Stephen because of his wisdom, and because it was the Spirit that prompted what he said.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nStephen was filled with grace and power and began to work miracles and great signs among the people. But then certain people came forward to debate with Stephen, some from Cyrene and Alexandria who were members of the synagogue called the Synagogue of Freedmen, and others from Cilicia and Asia. They found they could not get the better of him because of his wisdom, and because it was the Spirit that prompted what he said. So they procured some men to say, &#8216;We heard him using blasphemous language against Moses and against God.&#8217; Having in this way turned the people against him as well as the elders and scribes, they took Stephen by surprise, and arrested him and brought him before the Sanhedrin. There they put up false witnesses to say, &#8216;This man is always making speeches against this Holy Place and the Law. We have heard him say that Jesus the Nazarene is going to destroy this Place and alter the traditions that Moses handed down to us, &#8216;The members of the Sanhedrin all looked intently at Stephen, and his face appeared to them like the face of an angel.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe word of the Lord.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Responsorial Psalm<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">Psalm 118: 23-24, 26-27, 29-30. R. v.1<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 600; background-color: rgba(25, 30, 35, 0.2);\">They are happy whose life is blameless.<\/span>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThough princes sit plotting against me\r\nI ponder on your statutes.\r\nYour will is my delight;\r\nyour statutes are my counsellors. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI declared my ways and you answered:\r\nteach me your statutes.\r\nMake me grasp the way of your precepts\r\nand I will muse on your wonders. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nKeep me from the way of error\r\nand teach me your law.\r\nI have chosen the way of truth\r\nwith your decrees before me. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Gospel Acclamation<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Alleluia, Alleluia!<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYou believe, Thomas, because you can see me.\r\nHappy are those who have not seen and yet believe.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Alleluia!<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Gospel<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 6: 22-29<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color\"><em>Do not work for food that cannot last, but work for food that endures to eternal life.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAfter Jesus had fed the five thousand, his disciples saw him walking on the water. Next day, the crowd that had stayed on the other side saw that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not got into the boat with his disciples, by that the disciples had set off by themselves. Other boats, however, had put in from Tiberias, near the place where the bread had been eaten. When the people saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into those boats and crossed to Capernaum to look for Jesus. When they found him on the other side, they said to him, &#8216;Rabbi, when did you come here?&#8217; Jesus answered:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n&#8216;I tell you most solemnly,\r\nyou are not looking for me\r\nbecause you have seen the signs\r\nbut because you had all the bread you wanted to eat.\r\nDo not work for food that cannot last,\r\nbut work for food that endures to eternal life,\r\nthe kind of food the Son of Man is offering you,\r\nfor on him the Father, God himself, has set his seal.&#8217;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThen they said to him, &#8216;What must we do if we are to do the works that God wants?&#8217; Jesus gave them this answer, &#8216;This is working for God: you must believe in the one he has sent.&#8217;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Gospel of the Lord.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Profession of Faith<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">The Apostles&#8217; Creed<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI believe in God,\r\nthe Father almighty,\r\nCreator of heaven and earth,\r\nand in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,\r\nwho was conceived by the Holy Spirit,\r\nborn of the Virgin Mary,\r\nsuffered under Pontius Pilate,\r\nwas crucified, died, and was buried;\r\nhe descended into hell;\r\non the third day he rose again from the dead;\r\nhe ascended into heaven,\r\nand is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;\r\nfrom there he will come to judge the living and the dead.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI believe in the Holy Spirit,\r\nthe holy catholic Church,\r\nthe communion of saints,\r\nthe forgiveness of sins,\r\nthe resurrection of the body,\r\nand life everlasting. Amen,\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Prayers<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Intercessions<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<em>Pray for family and loved ones so that they may be held in God\u2019s compassionate care. Pray for other countries who are struggling with the effects of the COVID 19 virus.\u00a0<\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor those in authority: may they offer advice with care and integrity, may they seek to protect the poor and vulnerable.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor all who work in healthcare: give strength to all who look after the sick so that they may bring comfort and relief to the suffering.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor the Church: may she offer prayers and consolation for all those affected.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor our local community and all for those in need: may those who are isolated know the support and service of their neighbours.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Lord\u2019s Prayer<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOur Father, who art in heaven,\r\nhallowed by thy name;\r\nthey kingdom come,\r\nthy will be done\r\non earth as it is in heaven.\r\nGive us this day our daily bread,\r\nand forgive us our trespasses,\r\nas we forgive those who trespass against us;\r\nand lead us not into temptation,\r\nbut deliver us from evil.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Prayer for Spiritual communion<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI prostrate myself at your feet, O my Jesus, and I offer you the repentance of my contrite heart, which abases itself in its nothingness in Your Holy Presence. I adore you in the Sacrament of Your Love; I desire to receive You in the poor abode that my heart offers You. While waiting for the happiness of a Sacramental Communion, I want to possess You in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, that I may come to You. May Your love inflame my whole being, in life and in death. I believe in You. I hope in You.
