Where did I stray from God: through words, actions or things I did not do. How might I do better tomorrow? What grace do I ask from God in order to live more closely in his love?\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<em>You may wish to conclude by saying:\u00a0<\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLord Jesus, you have revealed yourself as the way to the Father:\r\nLord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYou have poured out on your people the Spirit of truth:\r\nChrist, have mercy. Let us denounce him!&#8221;\r\nAll those who used to be my friends\r\nwatched for my downfall,\r\n&#8220;Perhaps he will be seduced into error.\r\nThen we will master him\r\nand take out revenge!&#8221;\r\nBut the Lord is at my side, a mighty hero;\r\nmy opponents will stumble, mastered,\r\nconfounded by their failure;\r\neverlasting, unforgettable disgrace will be theirs.\r\nBut you, Lord of hosts, you who probe with justice,\r\nwho scrutinise the loins and heart,\r\nlet me see the vengeanance you will take on them,\r\nfor I have committed my cause to you.\r\nSing to the Lord,\r\npraise the Lord,\r\nfor he has delivered the soul of the needy\r\nfrom the hands of evil men.&#8217;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Responsorial Psalm<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">Ps 17: 2-7. Cf. v.7<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>In my anguish I called to the Lord<\/strong>\r\n<strong>and he heard my voice.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI love you, Lord, my strength,\r\nmy rock, my fortress, my saviour.\r\nMy God is the rock where I take refuge;\r\nmy shield, my mighty help, my stronghold.\r\nThe Lord is worthy of all praise:\r\nwhen I call I am saved from my foes. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe waves of death rose about me;\r\nthe torrents of destruction assailed me;\r\nthe snares of the grave entangled me;\r\nthe traps of death confronted me. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nIn my anguish I called to the Lord;\r\nI cried to my God for help,\r\nFrom his temple he heard my voice;\r\nmy cry came to his ears. <strong>R.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Gospel Acclamation<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">Mt 4: 17<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Glory to you, O Christ, you are the Word of God!<\/strong>\r\nRepent, says the Lord, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.\r\n<strong>Glory to you, O Christ, you are the Word of God!<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Gospel<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">A reading from the holy Gospel according to John 10: 31-42<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color\"><em>They wanted to arrest Jesus, but he eluded them.<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Jews fetched stones to stone him, so Jesus said to them, &#8216;I have done many good works for you to see, works from my Father; for which of these are you stoning me?&#8217; The Jews answered him, &#8216;We are not stoning you for doing good work but for blasphemy: you are only a man and you claim to be God.&#8217; Jesus answered:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n&#8216;Is it not written in your Law:\r\nI said, you are gods?\r\nSo the Law used the word gods\r\nof those to whom the word of God was addressed,\r\nand scripture cannot be rejected.\r\nYet you say to someone the Father has consecrated and sent into\r\nthe world,\r\n&#8220;You are blaspheming,&#8221;\r\nbecause he says, &#8220;I am the Son of God.&#8221;\r\nIf I am not doing my Father&#8217;s work,\r\nthere is no need to believe me;\r\nbut if I am doing it,\r\nthen even if you refuse to believe in me,\r\nat least believe in the work I do;\r\nthen you will know for sure\r\nthat the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.&#8217;\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThey wanted to arrest him then, but he eluded them.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nHe went back again to the far side of the Jordan to stay in the district where John had once been baptising. Many people who came to him there said, &#8216;John gave no signs, but all he said about this man was true&#8217;; and many of them believed in him.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Profession of Faith<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-vivid-red-color\">The Apostles&#8217; Creed<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI believe in God,\r\nthe Father almighty,\r\nCreator of heaven and earth,\r\nand in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,\r\nwho was conceived by the Holy Spirit,\r\nborn of the Virgin Mary,\r\nsuffered under Pontius Pilate,\r\nwas crucified, died, and was buried;\r\nhe descended into hell;\r\non the third day he rose again from the dead;\r\nhe ascended into heaven,\r\nand is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;\r\nfrom there he will come to judge the living and the dead.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI believe in the Holy Spirit,\r\nthe holy catholic Church,\r\nthe communion of saints,\r\nthe forgiveness of sins,\r\nthe resurrection of the body,\r\nand life everlasting. Pray for other countries who are struggling with the effects of the COVID 19 virus.\u00a0<\/em>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor those in authority: may they offer advice with care and integrity, may they seek to protect the poor and vulnerable.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor all who work in healthcare: give strength to all who look after the sick so that they may bring comfort and relief to the suffering.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor the Church: may she offer prayers and consolation for all those affected.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nFor our local community and all for those in need: may those who are isolated know the support and service of their neighbours.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<strong>Lord, in your mercy. Hear our prayer<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Lord\u2019s Prayer<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOur Father, who art in heaven,\r\nhallowed by thy name;\r\nthey kingdom come,\r\nthy will be done\r\non earth as it is in heaven.\r\nGive us this day our daily bread,\r\nand forgive us our trespasses,\r\nas we forgive those who trespass against us;\r\nand lead us not into temptation,\r\nbut deliver us from evil.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Prayer for Healing and Reconciliation<\/h4>\r\nPraise to you Father of our Lord Jesus Christ\r\nthe source of all consolation and hope.\r\nBe the refuge and guardian of all\r\nwho suffer from abuse and violence.\r\nComfort them and send healing\r\nfor their wounds of the body, soul and spirit.\r\nHelp us all and make us one with you\r\nin your love for justice\r\nas we deepen our respect for the dignity of every human life.\r\nGiver of peace, make us one in celebrating\r\nyour praise, both now and forever.\r\nWe ask this through Christ our Lord.\r\nAmen.\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">Daily Prayer<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLord, break the bonds of sin which our weaknesses have forged to enchain us, and in your loving mercy forgive your people&#8217;s guilt.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWe make our prayer through our Lord.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Memorare<\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nRemember O most gracious Virgin Mary,\r\nthat never was it known that anyone\r\nwho fled to thy protection, implored thy help,\r\nor sought thy intercession was left unaided.\r\nInspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee,\r\nO Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do we come,\r\nbefore thee do we stand sinful and sorrowful.\r\nO Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not our petitions,\r\nbut in thy mercy hear and answer us.
